Basically, coaching is the term used widely with a meaning that depends slightly on the situation. But generally speaking, coaching is something that provides instruction or training to a player or team, give someone extra teaching, teach as a coach, give someone instructions to what to say or do in a certain situation, give professional advice on how to achieve their goals.

This process is mostly about a person helping the other to further develop, learn, achieve and improve. This may be about enhancing an existing quality or acquiring new set of skills. But in most cases, the focus of coaching is on attitudes, knowledge and behaviors but there are scenarios where it can be utilized for spiritual and physical development.

As a matter of fact, coaching does happen in many situations of our life whether it is public or private such as in official organization, private institutions etc. Believe it or not, you might encounter coaching as well when you are taught of how to cook a meal. For this reason, coaching can be either formal or informal with different structures at play in how you’re being coached. The techniques and methods used will vary depending by whom, where and what you are trying to improve or develop.

Well practically speaking, this is about the ability of leading groups of people in specific objective or vision. This has something to do with motivating, developing and inspiring subordinates in achieving shared goals.

So what is meant by leadership coaching? Occasionally, this phrase is referred as executive or business coaching. It is more on improving the skills and the abilities of the person to lead and help an organization to meet operational objectives. To put it simply, it helps to boost the ability of that certain individual in performing as a leader and achieving its vision.

Leadership is built on values and also, soft skills such as emotional intelligence, executive leadership coaching isn’t entirely focused on driving personal growth. Personal development is part of this process but coaching can go deeper in specific organizational needs.
